Cinnamon Spice and Everything Nice Oatmeal

We don’t typically eat cereal; instead, my kids request oatmeal
almost every morning. Specifically, they ask for lots of brown sugar,
which is really coconut sugar in our home. Oatmeal, packed with
fiber and iron, helps fuel kids for hours. These smooth oatmeal
bowls are enriched with flax meal and hemp seeds, which blend into the color and consistency of oats while providing extra nutrition.

You can also make this in the microwave.

In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine the water and oats.

Microwave on high power for 1½ to 2 minutes, then proceed with steps 2 and 3 as directed.

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, bring the water to a boil. Add the oats.
Cook for about 1 minute, stirring occasionally.

Turn off the heat and stir in the hemp seeds, flax meal, coconut sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and up to ½ cup of almond milk.
Mix well.

Serve with toppings such as banana slices, fresh fruit, nuts, and seed butter or nut butter, if desired.
